Paint Party Information at a Location of your choice:
***Please note this information regards scheduling classes with me as an independent at locations OTHER THAN the Conneaut Arts Center or 2 Tees in a Pod. Classes with me at the Conneaut Arts Center and 2 Tees in a Pod have different guidelines, payments, and payment methods. If you would prefer to schedule class at one of these locations instead, please let me know so I can provide the proper information***
Paint Parties can be scheduled with me at locations such as event centers, rental halls, etc. as long as the group gets permission ahead of time from the facility. It is the responsibility of the group hosting the Paint Party to secure/rent the facility and get permission to do the Paint Party.
I will also come to a residence or house to do a painting class inside the home, garage, gazebo, etc. The HOMEOWNER must confirm in writing or via email/social media to me that they acknowledge the potential risks of messes, spills, splatters, etc. involved with paint classes and that I am not liable or responsible for any damages caused by paint.
Private Parties are scheduled with me directly, either via email (ChrisDavisPainting@gmail.com) or Facebook Messenger through my personal page. Event pages can be created on Facebook by the Party Leader to invite and update guests. However, all communication regarding the class with me must be made with me directly via Facebook Messenger or email ONLY. I cannot always keep up with comments on Facebook or in Facebook Events.
Classes generally range from 1.5 hrs - 3 hrs from start to finish, depending on the lesson and how many participants are present.
Please allow me to arrive and set up at least 30 minutes prior to the start of class. Someone from the party must be present to meet me and show me where class will be taking place.
The current minimum number of participants to hold a Private Paint Party is 5.
Paint Parties of less than 5 participants can still be held, but my minimum fee for teaching a Paint Party is still $150. It is up to the Party to decide how the cost is offset.
It is the responsibility of the host/participants to invite participants to the class. I do not advertise or promote private parties, nor do I invite people to private parties.
The facility must be able to accommodate the amount of people taking class without being too crammed.
The facility/space must have access to a sink and water for me to clean out brushes after class.
All supplies to do the painting are provided, including brushes, acrylic paints, canvas, paper plates, paper towels, etc.
Please note that I only use ACRYLIC paints for paint parties, I do NOT use watercolors, oils, tempera, gouache, etc. Occasionally, depending on the lesson, we may use additional materials such as pencils, chalk, permanent markers, etc. in addition to the acrylic paint.
The Party host or participants are responsible for securing tables, chairs, tablecloths/covers, and trash cans/bags. Different facilities have different sizes of tables so ensure the table covers you get cover the entire surface of the tables. I am not responsible or liable if participants get paint on tables.
Be aware that painting can be messy. It is recommended to wear something you don’t mind getting paint on as paint shirts, aprons, clothing covers are NOT provided by me. Participants may bring their own paint shirts, aprons, covers, etc. if they’d like.
Participants are welcome to have food, snacks, beverages, alcoholic beverages, etc. if the facility allows for it. Participants/Facility must provide their own plates, glasses, utensils, etc. as I will not provide anything other than supplies for the painting itself.
For Paint Parties at a Location of Your Choice (aside from The Conneaut Arts Center & 2 Tees in a Pod), I have two options for pricing: One option is if I bring all supplies for class, and the second option is a Group Rate if YOU provide the supplies. See pricing information below:
Option 1 Price: (if I provide all supplies):
$40 per person using 11x14 Stretched Canvas.
$30 per person using 8x10 Stretched Canvas.
*Please note that my cost is per person. I do not offer a Group Rate if I am providing all of the supplies.
Option 2 Price: Group Rate (YOU provide the paint supplies)
**I will consider doing Paint Party classes at a reduced group rate if the supplies are provided to me and I do NOT have to bring my own supplies. Supplies that YOU must provide to reduce my cost include: Acrylic Paints, Paper Towels, Paper Plates (or other palette for Paints), Water Cups (for rinsing brushes), Table coverings, and Canvas of whatever size the group wants.
I can provide paint brushes, chalk, markers, etc. for the lesson. If you choose to provide the supplies, I can give paint color list whenever the group chooses the lesson.
If YOU are providing the supplies for the Paint Party, the below group rate will be honored:
$150 for 5-12 participants
$175 for 13-19 participants
$250 for 20-29 participants
$300 for 30-39 participants
$375 for 40-54 participants
$500 for 55+ participants
The above prices are a guideline and can be negotiated to an extent (while scheduling). However, I will NOT do any classes for UNDER my $150 minimum.
Lesson:
The party leader is to notify me of which lesson the group would like to do at least 3 days prior to the class, to ensure the proper supplies and materials are ready. I purchase materials before each class so I need time in advance to secure the proper paints and supplies for the specific lesson.
The party leader is to notify me of how many participants will be attending and which size canvas the group chooses at least 3 days prior to class so that I can ensure I bring enough supplies and materials.
Only one lesson can be taught per group. However, many lessons allow for custom colors to be used and minor changes to be made. I.e. number and placement of trees, birds, etc.
Lessons can be chosen from any of my past or upcoming lessons. These can include Kids Classes or Sip and Paint Classes and can be interchangeable. For example, an adult party may choose to do a lesson originally designed as a kids class, and vice versa. To view my lessons, click this link.
Images found online can also be sent to me to create a custom lesson if sent at least a week in advance. If I create a custom lesson for your group, I reserve the right to use that lesson made for future public, private, and fundraiser classes.
Adults and Children of age 5+ may participate in Private Paint Parties as long as it’s okay with the individual hosting the party.
Payment
Payments may be made the day of class. Payments can be made as a group, individually, as a whole party, however you’d like as long as the final total payment includes the proper amount per person. I can accept cash, check, or Venmo. Full payments must be made before I can start class.
If paying in cash, please pay in exact change of the $40/$30 per person or the agreed amount group rate fee as I do not carry change. Any additional pay will be considered a tip unless I receive cash from other participants to give change back.
If paying by check, please make it out to “Chris Davis”
If paying via Venmo, my account is @Chris-Davis-1131
***Please note that this Payment Policy is ONLY if I come to you at a location OTHER THAN the Conneaut Arts Center or 2 Tees in a Pod. Classes that take place at either the Conneaut Arts Center or at 2 Tees in a Pod are paid directly to them, respectively. When I teach classes at the Conneaut Arts Center or 2 Tees in a Pod, I am contracting through their business and payments go through them. When I teach lessons ANYWHERE other that these two locations, payments can go to me directly. Please notify me if there are any questions about this PRIOR to class. I do NOT accept Debit/Credit cards.
***if you are the Party Leader, please notify ALL participants of my Payment Policy prior to class***
Cancellations/Rescheduling
If the paint party must be canceled or rescheduled, please notify me immediately via Facebook Messenger or email at least 6 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the class. I reserve the right to refuse rescheduling a group if notice is given less than 1 hour in advance of the scheduled start time.
